How do I add services and products to my Google Business Profile?
To add services, go to your profile โ Info โ Services โ Edit โ Add service (pick a suggested category or add a custom one), then add a description and a price if relevant, and save. To add products, go to Info โ Products โ Add product and upload a photo, title and description โ or optionally sync a supported POS/e-commerce system (Square, Shopify, Toast) to import your catalog automatically. Manual upload works for any business; the sync is optional.
Adding services
In Info โ Services โ Edit, click Add service and choose a suggested category or 'Add custom service'. Give each a keyword-aware description and a price if applicable, then save. You can add many services; all are visible when customers view your full profile.
Adding products
Two options: manual upload (Info โ Products โ Add product: photo, title, description), which works for any business type and country; or sync a supported POS/inventory platform (Square, Shopify, Toast) to import and keep products updated automatically. Both are valid โ choose manual for simplicity, or sync if you manage inventory elsewhere.
Tips
Add high-quality photos for both services and products, write clear keyword-rich descriptions so customers and search engines understand what you offer, and update regularly to keep your profile fresh and accurate.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I add products manually, or do I need a POS system?
- You can add products manually through the Products section โ no POS required. Manual upload works for any business type and country. If you use a POS or inventory system (Square, Shopify, Toast), you can sync automatically, but it isn't mandatory.
- What's the difference between services and products?
- Services describe what you do (e.g., haircut, oil change, consulting). Products are items you sell or display (e.g., lawn mower, coffee, clothing). Services allow descriptions and prices; products use photos and descriptions. Both appear on your profile and help customers understand your business.
- How many services and products can I add?
- You can add 20 or more custom services. Product limits depend on your business type and country, but there's no strict cap for manual uploads. Syncing via a POS/inventory system can import hundreds or thousands automatically.
- Do services and products help with search visibility?
- Yes. Services and products with clear, keyword-rich descriptions and good photos improve local search visibility and make your profile more useful. They also signal what your business specializes in, which can help you rank for relevant local searches.
